Content Marketing: In this, useful and valuable content is created and distributed through blogs, videos, ebooks, podcasts, etc. to attract the target audience. Social Media Marketing: In this, brand awareness is increased by sharing content on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. It is directly connected to the customers. The only difference between Content Marketing and Social Media Marketing is that in Content Marketing, we create useful and valuable content through any video, ebook, podcast, whereas through Social Media Marketing, we are connected to the customers through apps.
Goals
The purpose of content marketing is to increase the brand’s credibility, generate leads and increase website traffic, while the purpose of social media marketing is to popularize the brand, communicate with customers and increase social engagement. Both of these work for business and are complementary to both.
Platforms & Channels
Content marketing works on platforms like website, blog, YouTube, email, etc. They podcast their content, whereas social media marketing works on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, etc. by putting links.

Content marketing is a type of content such as long blocks, case studies, e-books, in a graphic video part, podcasts, whereas social media marketing is a type of content such as short posts, story menus, live streams, etc. All of this is promotion through social media marketing.
Distribution & Promotion
Content marketing is mainly published on websites and email newsletters and brings traffic through them. Social media marketing is shared on social platforms, which increases engagement through likes, shares and comments. Marketing can have more engagement mainly through email and text.
